Host: Hello everyone and welcome to The Universe's Got Talent! Today we have five new contestants, all of which are very unique. Before starting, let's get to know our players more starting with the tallest giant-of-a-man, Henry!
APPLAUSE
Host: So Henry, if you could describe yourself in one word, what would it be?
Henry: G-rated.
Host: Ah, okay... It says here that you're an amazing artist. What do you like to draw?
Henry: Boats. I'm an extraordinary sailor who loves the feel of the salty breeze against my back. I also enjoy sunsets.
Host: Here that ladies? This guy is passionate about life! So for the girls out there, are you single.
Henry: ....
Host: Hello? Are you dating anyone?
Henry: I don't date.
Host: Really? How come?
Henry: It's such a boring routine. The same old thing every single time.
Host: Oh, so you believe it's too common for you?
Henry: In a way, yes.
Host: Tell us, how do you feel most of the time? Happy? Sad? Vengeful?
Henry: Hungry.
Host: Ha ha ha, there he goes again folks! This guy is just too much. So Henry, when you're not drawing, what do you like to do?
Henry: I read. A lot.
Host: Can't get enough of those books, eh? What kind of books do you prefer?
Henry: Picture books.
Host: ... Next question: What do people usually say when they first meet you?
Henry: ...
Host: Hello? I said: What are peoples' first impressions of you?
Henry: I just told you: ....
Host: No comment? They don't say anything?
Henry: Exactly.
Host: I see... You're a very comedic guy, Henry.
Henry: I know.
Host: ... *clears throat* Well that's all from Henry, folks! Now onto the next contestant...
I love Henry!!! xD My first thought on seeing the name Henry was "OMG Henry the llama???". But alas. Anyways, I like the interview form, it really works for your writing style. ^^ And Henry's responses made me giggle!
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Shelby, wow...I think this might require acting out in a live reading, since you wrote it like a script!
ReplyDeleteI laughed, I cried, I spotted parallels to the steel industry. Altogether a very masculine character, this Henry. Hemingway-esque, I would say, had I wanted to put a label on him. Which I don't.
